How to donate money or equipment to the Biohackspace

Unfortunately Molecular Biology is Expensive! Really expensive. Did I mention that reagents can be expensive? However as a community of biohackers we can spread the cost of research between many, and it becomes possible to do great things.

We rely on donations from our members and from our supporters to fund the lab’s day to day costs. If you want to help out then you can make a one-time donation by clicking here.

If you want to make a regular donation, you can sign up as a supporting member. We will send you a regular email newsletter with information on what’s been happening in the biohackspace and the projects that are being funded. Sign up as a supporting member here.

Help BioHackspace by donating equipment.

To see what specific items we need, see our wishlists in this Wiki Page;

General — office supplies, furniture, etc.
Lab Equipment — science stuff

A few notes about donations:

  1. We can’t take everything. In particular, some lab equipment is unrepairable, contaminated, or so out-dated that it’s no longer useful, and is in fact expensive to dispose of. Please check we can use it first.
  2. If you’re curious what we need, see the publicly accessible wishlists. If you have something you think we need, or think we ought to be on the look out for something, add it to the Suggestions list.
  3. If you’ve got a donation, come by the lab on Tuesday or Wednesday evening, or make an appointment with a member of the Team (hello@biohackspace.org) as we are happy to collect items.
